Another Update!

I’ve decided that I want to get back into the habit of writing and blogging everyday and while I don’t exactly have all the time in the world I’ve decided that I can squeeze in a half hour everyday if that’s what it takes to get back into a routine. I love writing and blogging, it fuels my creative outlet.

There has been a lack of book reviews this month despite the pile up of books sitting to be read and reviewed. I hit a snag with two books that I was attempting to read and they’ve put me behind severely. I’m terribly sorry, I will try to have another  up within the next week. Possibly on the weekend.

I started up a sims blog yesterday, I got back into playing, actually playing a family versus building and decorating. I started a legacy family. It’s different mostly because I’m not looking to write a story – that’s where I get stuck it seems is telling the story. So my posts will be mostly picture laden with a few words here and there possibly explaining the moments before and after the picture was taken. I’ve also decided not to follow a legacy challenge I just want to see how long I can keep the family going. You can follow it here if you like: Just Another Sims 3 Blog. I’ll be attempting to move all my pages over within the next week.

So lately I’ve been a little behind with updating….it happens.
I recently went back to work…post ankle injury and wouldn’t you know my ankle has been swollen since my first shift back – not surprised, just maybe a little peeved.

With the Sims 3 Island Paradise expansion…post…I played and found that I am totally in love. Island Paradise has to be by far my favorite expansion pack yet that I own.

My reading and reviewing has been lacking lately…*cough* … *cough*…
I started to read The Tyrant’s Daughter by J. C. Carleson and surprisingly it’s taking me forever and I mean that. It’s an ARC from Netgalley and of course I have it on my phone as opposed to my e-reader since the phone is well on me all the time. That’s besides the point…it’s a good story, I’m enjoying it, it just feels like it’s taking forever to read it. I like it but I mean I can put it down and walk away for a few days before I think to pick it back up again.

My copy of A Holiday Miracle In Apple Blossom by June Mccrary Jacobs – the uncorrected proof from Bookworm Lisa’s Clear Your Shelf Hop   came in the mail, so that review will hopefully be up soon.

Books on the prominent to read list:

1. The Tyrant’s Daughter by J. C. Carleson – Currently reading…and like I mentioned above, it’s taking forever.
2. A Holiday Miracle In Apple Blossom by June Mccrary Jacobs
3. My Sister’s Keeper – Jodi Piccoult
4. The Laird Who Loved Me by Karen Hawkins
5. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin

My Obscene design magazine collection

obscene magazine collection

Just thought I should post this, I had to clean out my desk area for my sister in law and decided to organize my magazine collection before I took it upstairs. I’ve been collecting for years and I finally brought it all together, it’s big enough to fill three milk crates full and boy are they heavy to move.  It all fuels my inspiration in my design world and when decorating in sims 3.

So by the end of tonight I should have two new book reviews posted for you all to read. I am making a fabulous start to my reading this year with three books under my belt – well I think I have anyway. I should have a few others read within the next week as I had a terrible accident which resulted in a really bad ankle sprain and it could end up that my ankle might be broken provided I get a second opinion. I’ll be laid up in bed for the next week with nothing better to do than get some of my reading out of the way.

I wanted to say that I received a new novel in the mail – thanks to a Goodreads giveaway. I won the novel “Daughter of Oreveille” by Tricia Ballad and finally received it today in the mail. Super excited to get a start on reading it so stay tuned for that review.

Books on my shelf this week to read:
1. An Earthly Knight by Janet McNaughton
2. Hard As It Gets by Laura Kaye
3. Daughter of Oreveille by Tricia Ballad
4. My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult
5. A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin
6. The Tyrant’s Daughter by J. C. Carleson < courtesy of NetGalley

The Month of October

Wow, October came fast didn’t it?
I just love October…and all the things that come with it. By now our communities are turning beautiful with orange and red colored leaves, apples are being picked and kids are picking out their costumes for Halloween. My favorite thing to do is bake…anything with apples.

Anywho … the month of October is bound to be busy…for one its exactly one month until NaNoWriMo…one month until I give November all I’ve got and write my book, and the second…I am now a working girl, yay!! Yes I finally got a job. Thank goodness I was beginning to think I was never going to get one. After all I have been searching and applying since August. It’s not much but its something. It’s part time but six hours a day not including weekends. I’ll work everyday. It’s fast food but as my first day was yesterday I loved the environment. A little intimidating at first but after a bit it worked out. Since I am now working there is a good chance I won’t be going back to school. I think I’m done with Humber anyway for the most part. I’ve made several attempts to get in contact with the program coordinator and I did go above her head to see something done but nothing so far? They make a promise at the beginning of the year that you won’t fall through the cracks and yet I’ve fallen and still falling into a canyon.

I also booked my road test to get my G2 – I can’t even explain how nervous I am. But it’s solid and set in stone so I can’t change it now (I probably could but I’d like to keep the mindset that it is otherwise theres a probable chance I will chicken out).

Here’s a list of novels I plan to read for October:

1. The Lucky One – Nicholas Sparks – Currently Reading
2. The White Princess – Philippa Gregory (The Cousin’s War #5)
3. The Search – Nora Roberts
4. The Gathering – Kelley Armstrong (Darkness Rising #1)
5. Along Came a Spider – James Patterson (Alex Cross #1)

Anyone else have a list of books their reading for October. I have one for each week. I probably won’t get to all of them but some of them in no particular order. Then again I might surprise myself and read them all plus a few added.
