Sullivan’s Legacy – 1.4

Late in the night Leila hears something outside squeaking. She decides to check it out. Theres a squirrel, lost and alone, Leila decides to catch it and being him home. She names him Hammy.

Boo has made quite an addition to the family. She’s a cute precious little thing. Leila wants the chance to teach her some tricks so that she may eventually compete in town competitions. First things first; teaching Boo to sit.

During the early morning an opportunity pops to study at the library, she does so and it prove valuable as she learns more about hacking into an enemies database. She receives a phone call with her first case – the case of the missing mouth wash, the client: Ethan Parrott

Leila bribes Jazlynn to confess to her prank and give Ethan back his mouth wash, its a win win for all.

After closing her first case, Leila decides to give the house it’s much needed makeover.

After using the washing machine it decides to call it quits and shortly after the toilet…again. Thank god the tech guy Is coming.

Leila has started her own small garden to make a small extra profit off the neighbours. She skilled up one skill level in gardening.

Leila receives her second case and is promoted (1) to Small Claims Investigator

The morning after she decides to take a walk through town. During her walk she meets Patricia Bedlington, they stop to talk for a few minutes.

Sullivan’s Legacy – 1.3

She catches no one in a criminal act by the time the sun is high in the sky. She’s slightly disappointed and unmotivated. She thought that this job might have a slight fun factor to it…but alas she has not found it. She receives a call from the police station, their looking for her insight to help solve this latest case that their stumped on. She reluctantly agrees and heads on over to give a hand.

After a long day at the office and coming up empty and no where further to solving the investigation than when she started she heads home. She decides to walk home. It might be good to get some fresh air and let the disappointment roll of her shoulders.

While walking she stops and looks as she almost stepped on an Emerald Tree Boa Snake. He’s absolutely beautiful and she thinks he will make a lovely addition to her family. She decides to pick him up and put him in her pocket and carry him home.

Later in the day after making a few bucks and feeling a bit better about her job she heads out on her second stakeout at the fitness center. She does witness some criminal activity between Tate Curly and Rodney Singleton. She has a feeling Mr. Singleton is still sore about the pie eating contest and is up to no good. She heads back home long after their gone to write her report and email it to her friend inside the police station.

Once at home she tries her hand at hacking into a criminal online database. It proves to be useful in getting her used to the skill but nothing more. By the end of the day she is thoroughly disappointed with her career path. And on top of it all she had to drop 50 simoliens to get a repair man to fix her toilet.  She spends time with Shadow and he makes her his best friend, something she’s been waiting for, for a long time.

As the night progresses into early morning, Leila is up at the crack of dawn and heading to the local police station to do some low level police work…hopefully she can manage to do that with some success.

After making a few bucks and feeling better about her job, Leila heads out on her second stakeout to the fitness center.  At the fitness center she does finally witness some criminal activity between Tate Curly and Rodney Singleton. She has a bad feeling about what Mr. Singleton is up to, her gut tells her he’s still sore over the eating contest and is up to no good. Long after they leave Leila heads home to write up her report on what she saw and email it into her friend at the police station.

Leila finally feels like she accomplished something and is feeling very well. Leila decides it’s time to adopt another dog. Poor shadow is all alone most of the time and he needs a friend to play with. Leila adopts a female, unknown breed dog, a small dog, who she names Boo.

Feeling over confident in her skills and after she gets Boo settled in, she heads out on another stake out. It’s a bust this time, but she lets it go as she picks wildflowers. An hour or two later and Leila’s got allergies. Not wanting to be stuck with allergies for days she pumps out 200 simoliens and heads to the hospital for an allergy shot.

Author’s Notes:

I just wanted to show how many wild flower’s Leila has collected…she will continue to collect them until she dies…it’s kind of her thing I guess. They’ve pretty much taken over the house and the house smells like a greenhouse.

Flowers from left to right: Azalea (2), Indian Blanket (1), Sweet William (3), Cosmos (2), Daisy (3), Sulfur (3), Black eyed Susan (3), Blue Flax (2)

Sullivan’s Legacy – 1.2

Leila finally found a job that stood out in the newspaper. It was an advert for Private Investigator, she didn’t mind a little under cover work. The advert pretty much jumped off the page out at her so she knew it must have been right. The pay wasn’t exactly great, but it was better than nothing…and right now she had nothing.

Leila taught shadow some new tricks: sit up, speak and shake. He really is coming along in his training.

The rent was paid and the daily chores were done. While cleaning, Leila was going through the newspapers and found a flyer for the summer festival that was officially opening today. She had never been to one and decided to take the opportunity to do so.

As soon as she saw the face painting booth she knew that however it might be silly that she just had to get it done, you only live once right?

She was asked to take part in the hotdog eating contest (the place wasn’t very busy).

The contestants look bored as they wait for the judge and the horn to start…well they all look bored except for Mr. Singleton who looks like he might have to use the men’s washroom. He didn’t leave and forfeit his place, he was a trooper and pressed through it.

And Leila is pleased as punch that she’s won first place in the hotdog contest. Way to Go!!

Ms. Bird coming in at second just behind Leila

Mr. Ruffin forfeits and Mr.Singleton takes third place by default. I don’t think he’s too happy about that one.

After winning the eating contest, Leila goes and trades in her tickets. Her choice of prize is a horse shoe ring for her own backyard. It should add to the ambience…not!!

She decided to pick some wildflowers behind the goal to add to her collection, and headed into the greet card booth to get her photo taken.

Sullivan’s Legacy – 1.1

In her first few days in town, Leila bought a nicely sized plot of land, and four walls were built with a roof to stay over her head. With what left over money she had left she bought meager furniture from the online catalogue on her phone and thus her place was sparsely furnished.

She spends her morning doting on her pal shadow before the two of them head into town to the local dog park for the weekly “Dog Social Hour”.

< At the dog social hour Leila met Shawnee Fox who was attending with his child Dakota Fox and there hay-loving friend Bramble. Leila decided that the only thing she could think about when she met Shawnee was the fact that she was attracted to him…and apparently he was to her to. (Writer rolling eyes here, seriously get a grip Leila, no one wants to be a home wrecker in a small town, word travels fast like a forest fire)

As per her opportunity Leila introduced herself to a few of the townsfolk’s pets. Shawnee disappeared with his child and she decided that maybe since he gave her his number she would text him so he would get hers.

She finds two wildflowers that now take up residence on her night side table. They added a certain kind of charm to her bedroom area and made where she’ll rest her head smell like a field of wildflowers. How pretty!

Leila decides that while she’s at the dog park she might as well make use of the place and teach shadow a new trick. She has been kind of lacking in his obedience training, but he’s a good dog so it doesn’t show…much.

The rest of the afternoon goes off without a hitch as she heads home to her humble abode. We find her looking in the newspaper. With any luck maybe she’s finally decided to look for a job. Alas…that’s a negative on the job search, she’s decided to seek out information on the discount classes…it’s guitar today which won’t help her. Oh well off to the city hall I go…its a charisma class I’m after.

Leila’s hard earned money spent on a class allows her to manage to grasp the basic concepts of charisma…it’s a miracle. She thinks the class curriculum could use a revamp. The class it’s self was very dry and she fell asleep for half of it.

…and a legacy is born – Sullivan Family Legacy

Meet spunky, young-adult Leila Sullivan, the founder of the Sullivan Legacy. Her story starts in the quaint town of Appaloosa Plains. She stumbles into town after hitch hiking a ride cross country with her adorable friend Shadow. She only meant it to be a pit stop, as her ride was going further but after stepping into the country soil she knew this would be the place to start fresh…a new place to put down permanent roots.

Writing Resources?

NaNoWriMo is less than a month away. What are your writing resources? Are you a planner or a panster?

I personally have given up on writing in any other program but Microsoft office, I’ve tried Scrivner, YWriter, Storyist, Storybook ect. But I guess it depends on the specific person. I have planned my novel and other novels in Microsofts OneNote and have yet to try and see if it works in Evernote. Before I got the microsoft series Evernote was my go to for pretty much everything. If you’ve read my post on planning then you know the layout I set for my novels…it also depends on if your world building or not. I believe I could get Evernote to work I just haven’t figured out how.

I’m currently looking for a music site, or program other than itunes where I can compile music playlists. I was using youtube but it’s a bit annoying that I can’t set a song on repeat or anything and I dislike itunes. I used youtube the most because some of the songs I don’t have and youtube was a way of listening to them for free. Might just have to bite the bullet and buy the song.

Heres a list of some of my writing resources:

1. – I frequent the forums ALOT…I do word count shoutouts and talk to other writer’s on there. I also use the adoption forum for dares and plot lines, and even sometimes names.

2. WriteorDie – I don’t use this one as much as i’d like to. I find that even though I want to use it to boost my inspiration that I don’t.

…can’t think of anymore off the top of my head but i’ll update the list when I do.

Are you a planner or a pantster?

As most of you can probably tell I’m a planner…or at least a partial planner. I’ve got a general plot line and knowledge of where I’m starting, a little of whats going on in the middle and where I want to at least end up at the end of it all. What about you?

The Month of October

Wow, October came fast didn’t it?
I just love October…and all the things that come with it. By now our communities are turning beautiful with orange and red colored leaves, apples are being picked and kids are picking out their costumes for Halloween. My favorite thing to do is bake…anything with apples.

Anywho … the month of October is bound to be busy…for one its exactly one month until NaNoWriMo…one month until I give November all I’ve got and write my book, and the second…I am now a working girl, yay!! Yes I finally got a job. Thank goodness I was beginning to think I was never going to get one. After all I have been searching and applying since August. It’s not much but its something. It’s part time but six hours a day not including weekends. I’ll work everyday. It’s fast food but as my first day was yesterday I loved the environment. A little intimidating at first but after a bit it worked out. Since I am now working there is a good chance I won’t be going back to school. I think I’m done with Humber anyway for the most part. I’ve made several attempts to get in contact with the program coordinator and I did go above her head to see something done but nothing so far? They make a promise at the beginning of the year that you won’t fall through the cracks and yet I’ve fallen and still falling into a canyon.

I also booked my road test to get my G2 – I can’t even explain how nervous I am. But it’s solid and set in stone so I can’t change it now (I probably could but I’d like to keep the mindset that it is otherwise theres a probable chance I will chicken out).

Here’s a list of novels I plan to read for October:

1. The Lucky One – Nicholas Sparks – Currently Reading
2. The White Princess – Philippa Gregory (The Cousin’s War #5)
3. The Search – Nora Roberts
4. The Gathering – Kelley Armstrong (Darkness Rising #1)
5. Along Came a Spider – James Patterson (Alex Cross #1)

Anyone else have a list of books their reading for October. I have one for each week. I probably won’t get to all of them but some of them in no particular order. Then again I might surprise myself and read them all plus a few added.
